Q2 2022

June 2022

We are thrilled to announce that the Knights Knation Baseball program is on board to beta test the product in late summer/early fall with several of their teams to generate use case data to help us build a fundamentally sound product that fits well with what the market needs. The Knights Knation program was founded in 2007 by former major league pitcher, Jack Cressend. Their purpose is to provide players with all the necessary resources to fully develop as a young man and complete baseball player.

We are kicking off our Waitlist campaign for version 1 of our app. The purpose of the campaign is to create a sense of exclusivity and buzz around the upcoming launch of our product and generate a sales funnel of waiting customers. We intend to update those who sign up to be on our waitlist with relevant messaging as we move through the various phases of product development and get closer to launching the product.

We are also working on a promo video that will help us tease out the product to generate buzz both with end users and investors. The video will focus on both the passion and purpose of the product as well as some of the product’s key features and functions.

Team Member Updates

This month we welcomed Meghan OLeary, a two-time Olympian, Go-To-Market Enthusiast, Startup Founder & Advisor joined our team. We were lucky enough to meet Meghan last summer at the onset of our entrepreneurial adventure and she was very interested in our concept and has been a trusted advisor at some key steps along the way. This week she has officially agreed to join our team as a business development consultant and help us continue to develop our product and get it to market. Meghan’s experience as an athlete at every level combined with her business background and start-up experience makes her the ideal consultant for our company.

Boo Schexnayder, the Strength coach for the LSU Track + Field, has agreed to come on board and develop some of our age-appropriate, sport specific training. Schexnayder has been the mastermind behind 19 NCAA champions and over 70 All Americans in his collegiate coaching career, and is one of the most successful field event coaches in NCAA history. He has coached 11 Olympians, and has served on coaching staffs for Team USA to the 2003 Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, the 2006 World Junior Championships in Beijing, and was the Jumps Coach for Team USA at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. In addition to his track and field experience, he has consulted and designed training programs for football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and golf at the high school level.

Ignition 2.0 Demo Day Winners

We just wrapped up Nexus Louisiana’s Ignition 2.0 which was a nine-week program designed to guide entrepreneurs through the commercialization process of building their company. The ideal participants in Ignition 2.0 are technology-enabled companies who have moved past the idea and market confirmation stages of building their business and into product development. Through Ignition 2.0, were paired into teams and placed with a mentor, with whom we meet with weekly. We were also given the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with subject matter experts, in crucial commercialization areas— technology, financials, marketing, and legal, all of whom provided us with invaluable insight.

Ignition 2.0 culminated in a Demo Day pitch competition where each start-up was given 5 minutes to a pitch and then 3 minutes for Q+A. We are pleased to announce that our company won the Demo Day pitch and were awarded $10,000. We are not only thrilled that our hard work has paid off but are incredibly grateful for all that we’ve learned and the connections we’ve made through Ignition 2.0.

In April, we launched the Healthy=Happy podcast. The focal point of the podcast is to tackle a variety of topics as they relate to living active and healthy lifestyles including exercise, sports, eating healthy, and making daily choices that keep us on a healthy trajectory both physically and mentally. In the coming months we plan to bring in some coaches and athletes to talk about their athletic journey. You can follow the podcast on Spotify, iHeart Radio, and YouTube.

Brew High Stakes Pitch Competition

Our application into the High Stakes Pitch Competition at BREW11 was a success. We were one of eight semi-finalist out of 50 applicants. The eight semi-finalist were broken into three groups and assigned a set of judges to whom they would do their 10 minute pitch. Each group selected only one company to move on to the final pitch competition. All of the judges were impressed with our pitch, our product and our business plan. We have since followed up with all of the judges for additional feedback. All of them told us that it was a very close decision because of the quality of companies that made it to the semi-final round.

South By Southwest Interactive Conference

In March, we headed to Austin for the annual South by Southwest Interactive Conference to further our networking and knowledge base in both the tech and investor space. We were able to sit in on some very inspiring and informative sessions as well as make some very relevant connections. While we were at the conference, we were able to pitch our idea to Laxmi Poruri, a former pro and collegiate tennis player who is also the Entrepreneur In Residence at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP in Austin. She has incredible insight and feedback for our platform and asked us to stay engaged with her as we continue to make progress. Overall it was an educational experience that helped us further our business.
